1 Week Birthday for the B Litter

The B Litter is turning 1 week old. Time is flying! They are growing so stinkin' fast, I'm ready for them to slow down and stay pocket size forever.

Mama Bella has been doing fantastic. Her UTI has cleared up really quickly, although she has another 7 days of antibiotics. She has returned to acting her normally, sweet self. I think this past week she has been exhausted with the nursing and healing from her birth ordeal. Its nice to see her getting sleep finally, and falling into motherhood so effortlessly.

With only two babies, there is a lot of milk to go around. They still bicker over the same nipple for some reason. Behaviorally, they've become very independent the last few days. Both puppies go to opposite corners of the whelping box, they hardly ever try and lay with each other or with the mother. The boy is much more likely to climb near/around Bella and seems to stay closer to her. They are cruising around pretty good considering their still blind/deaf right now. Temperament wise, the girl seems very calm/mellow ... she cuddles to whoever is holding her and is very relaxed. The boy has a lot more temperament for sure. If there is a screaming puppy... it is usually him, pissed off about not finding the nipple or a comfy enough spot. He talks a LOT, even at this age. He always grunts when he is picked up and is even noisy when he eats. I'm suggesting B names for him of Banshee or Barky!
