The B Litter has seemingly overnight turned from squirming sleepers to crazy full blown puppies. They mouth everything, are climbing in and out of the box, and have graduated to different food.
Last week we decided to start the weaning process since the puppies were not self-regulating their milk (they were becoming very FAT!) Once the unlimited round-the-clock meals stopped, they started moving, getting on their feet, and maturing and have really come a long ways this last week. Their not very vocal this week, and have become attached to Bella since she is not available 24/7 and detached from each other. The boy in particular has a very strong bond with his mother.
This week we are going to start going by their given (for now) names!!
Baby boy is going to be known (most likely) as Ben vom Bosen Blick aka Ben.
His current weight at 4 weeks is 7.6 lbs
Baby Girl is going to be known as Brazen vom Bosen Blick aka Brazy.
She currently weighs in at 6.15 lbs.
I added some higher stepping points to the whelping box so they have to climb on and off of things. Next week I'll get them a tunnel and perhaps an outdoor pen that they can explore more in. They have been exposed to a noise CD, television, vacuum cleaner, and any rattling or shaking sounds I can come up with.
Looking for more milk .... the new teeth the puppies have are very uncomfortable so she doesn't like to lay down for long.
